Subject: SMUG: Biswick File, June 1997
I took my grandson to a concert the other night. His mom was down with a
slipped disc in her back from falling off a stepladder and couldn't go.
(His daddy is a no account good-for-nothing and was busy drinking with his
buddies and wouldn't go.) Mikey was all afraid he wouldn't get to go. I
hadn't been to a hootenanny in many moons. So, I said, "What the heck."
The main band was one called "Iggy Pop" and the fellow singing was a scrawny
boy wearing tight slacks and boots. They all had the long hair and I'm not
one for the long hair being from the Army and all. But the singer didn't
wear a shirt. I thought about it for a while and I kept wondering why more
singers of the rock and roll don't wear shirts. I often don't wear my shirt
when I'm sitting around watching the Wheel of Fortune. I get overheated
pretty easy and they keep it real hot in the group home.
This singer for "Iggy Pop" jumped around and gyrated and cut the rug and
whatnot. He was putting on quite a spectacle, but he kept cool the whole
time. More of these young people playing the grunge music the kids listen
to these days need to follow the lead of this singer for Iggy Pop. He knows
something that the professional wrestlers of the WWF already know: If you
want to keep cool, take off your shirt.

editor's note: "Ole Sherm", as we call him to his face, or "The Biswick", as we call him behind it, doesn't have email, and thinks computers are taking away jobs from nice American undereducated laborers. He can be reached via ham radio, but we're not quite sure how that works.
