Don't Play B-17
No one seems to be able to put out a record anymore without their cover song, which we suppose is placed meticulously to serve to both impress and amuse the listener. Obscure punk and blues covers say "see, this is how much cred we have, we are the real deal" and of course, remakes of bad 70s pop tunes say "we have a sense of humor about this band thing, not like those depressing grunge guys." Either way, it seems to be coming to a point of critical mass, whereupon no charting hit will be uncovered.
Prior to this, we'd like to make a few requests. These are the songs we're begging to never hear again. No amount of edge or "irony" will save these musical maladies, best to let sleeping dogs lie.
Melody Of Love - Bobby Vinton
You say you've been reading Leslie for months in Smug, but you want to know what she sounds like? Well, check out Regarding a new site that features editorial, wit, rhetoric, and truth both in text and luscious Real Audio. Jam packed with Internet all stars, Leslie was able to slip in with the brat pack because she has the best shoes. So, apparently - that sort of thing does pay off once in awhile.
